Make a Wish

Monday, October 30, 2006

We've added a new button to our homepage – "Wishlist." We want to know what YOU want to see on Krishna.com… And if enough people make the same wish, it just might come true!

So let us know by following these steps:

1) Click on Wishlist on the homepage.

2) Sign in (or sign up; if you're there for the first time, confirm the sign-up email you receive.)

3) Add wishes to your Krishna.com wishlist by clicking on "Add a Wish."

a) Under "I'm wishing for" enter your wish in simple language)

b) Under "Note" enter a description to clarify or explain your wish.

c) Leave the default "now" selected under "I want it…"

d) Tag your wish with nouns / keywords separated by spaces that best describe it.

If you want to wish for the same thing as someone else, make sure you copy the exact wording of their wish and paste it into your wishlist. This is so that the program will recognize it and elevate it to a higher ranking – notice that the more popular the wish, the larger it appears in the list.

So make as many wishes as you want!

….And maybe Christmas will come early this year.

And take a good look at this What’s New page, because soon it will be upgraded to include our shiny new "Sanga" podcast - take a peek next door in Highlights for details. And that’s just the beginning… So stay tuned.

The upgrade will give a significant increase in sound quality, lecture recording consistency (automated), and will allow us to play devotional music and Krishna Book readings during the day when there are no services in the temple room. This is a much needed improvement, and we are appealing for your assistance. Find out what you can do to help.

When Civilized People Everywhere Refuse to Eat Animals

Monday, October 02, 2006

For years, many have thought of vegetarians as nuts, and regarded vegetarianism as simply sentimental, or at best a health choice. But now signs have popped up in mainstream media that perhaps this mentality is changing. In a recent piece for the program 60 Minutes, CBS News correspondent Andy Rooney wrote, “I’m not a vegetarian, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we came to a time in fifty or one hundred years when civilized people everywhere refused to eat animals.” More of the same sentiment followed in readers’ comments.

Could this be the first step on the road to a better world? Check it out for yourself.
